an unexplored ocean

the ship has sailed to far,
crashings on the shore
mean nothing to
an infinity of water.
we
rise and fall,
rise and fall.

grains upon the shore,
washed like specks in the wind,
we scrape
against the impurities found
in the water;
against each other.
we
rise and fall,
rise and fall.

let the pressure drop,
let me dive deep.
explore your undersea city;
the waves will be my guide,
a compass at my side.
i’ll navigate your caverns,
closed to those before.
open every crevice,
that i might fill you up again.

we
rise and fall,
rise and fall –

where have you gone?

the currents of time have drawn me back to you.
