saltwater monster

tears but a gateway into a larger ocean,
where all rivers flow to form a greater
whole.

completing the cycle of misfortune at hand,
the one fate deals is never quite so
grand.

where time flows down a crystal sea of ice;
cold hearted, gruesome, will keep me being
nice.

sarcastically, drastically, reducing my capacity
to understand and see the monster that is
me.

gorging down the salty waves, waiting for a drought – starve the demon, drive him
out!

yet they’ll flow all the same, to feed the little rest;
when flesh has all but rotten off, only the monster will be
left.
