time is a careless object
flying or crawling.
no regard
for the ticks that keep it in place.
or the hours that keep its pace.
hundred and fifty four reasons to stay,
though time often draws back
the hand.
knowing only what has passed,
can pass again?
pray that the moving ticks
keep their promise.
wishing for nothing more,
than a new tick,
on a broken watch.
